The Closest Thing to an ENO for under $30

Great Budget Hammocks Part 5

I have been amazed at the response that I have received when I started reviewing hammocks less than a month ago.  I still have about three more hammocks to review yet, then I will create a video and blog comparing all of the hammocks.  Today I am excited to review a hammock that is probably the most comparable to the famous ENO Hammocks.

The ENO Alternative

Let me introduce to you the Trail Quest Hammock from Tradewind Products.  I consider this hammock the ultimate ENO alternative.  The quality is great on this hammock, as it appears to be quadruple stitched instead of just triple stitched (even though it is listed as triple stitched).  If you look carefully at the picture below you can count 4 stitches, 3 large stitches and 1 small stitch at the bottom.  This hammock also comes with a lifetime warranty, which proves that Tradewind Products believes in this hammock.  The Hammock comes with a compression strap sewed onto the bag to make it easier to get a small footprint with this hammock. Did I mention that the Trail Quest features all of this for under $30 on Amazon?

 Specifications

The Trail Quest Hammock is listed as being able to hold 450lbs, and I will just take their word on that one.  It is also listed as a double hammock, and it is definitely wide enough to be a double hammock.  It is shaped very similar to an ENO which tends to be a little shorter and wider than other double hammocks.  The hammock only comes in the one Black/Red color, but that combination looks really nice.  One thing to note is that this hammock does not come with hammock straps, so you will need to think about that when you order the hammock.  As with all of these smaller hammock companies, I am very impressed with the customer service of the Tradewinds Products company.  They are very nice to deal with.

You can purchase the hammock on Amazon Here

I highly recommend this Hammock!  Please go to my video and subscribe to my channel.

The $19 Hammock Review

Great Budget Hammocks Part 4

We have looked at some great hammocks recently.  All of the hammocks that I have reviewed have been great.  There is usually some give and take with hammocks.  Usually with the lower price we get a smaller size, or lower quality.  We are going to look at a hammock today that has a lower price, but does not sacrifice quality.

The Perfect Life Sports Hammock

The Perfect Life Sports Hammock is only $19 on Amazon!  Yes I said that right.  What is even harder to believe is that it is a nice hammock for that price.  The hammock is triple stitched, is rated to handle up to 400lbs, and comes with 12 foot of rope to hang the hammock with.  It comes in Orange and Gray and Dark Gray and Bronze.  I really like the Orange and Gray color, but I might be biased.  It is not listed on their Amazon page, but I would definitely list this hammock as a single hammock and not a double.  It is pretty small, but I can fit in it just fine.  As always I do not recommend hanging the hammock with the rope since this can damage the tree, but at this price you can either buy straps or make them on the cheap.

You can purchase the hammock here

Enjoy,

A Crazy Deal on a Hammock and Strap Combo

Great Budget Hammocks Part 3

I am excited to continue my reviews of great budget hammocks. (Remember I consider a budget hammock to be a hammock that is cheaper than an Eno). I just reviewed a hammock, strap combo that I have to share with you.  The Two Rivers Hammock is a high quality hammock at a great price by itself, but it also comes with Hammock Straps that compare to the Eno Atlas Straps.  The sellers, Two Rivers Outfitters, is selling both the hammock and straps for $40 on Amazon!

Two Rivers Hammock Specifications

The Two Rivers Hammock is a double hammock, and I can verify that this hammock has tons of room (just watch my video review).  The actual dimensions of the hammock are 9 feet 9 inches long by 6 feet 6 inches wide.  The hammock itself is triple stitched for added quality and can hold up to 400 lbs.

The Hammock Straps are 9 feet long with 15 adjustment loops.  They have a weight limitation of 200 lbs each, so with both straps it matches the 400 lbs limit of the hammock.

The Dillon Test

My Son Dillon went on a scout camping trip this past weekend.  Dillon spent two nights at the Land Between the Lakes Boy Scout Camp, and he decided to try out our Two Rivers Hammock.  He absolutely loved the hammock.  There were other scouts with much more expensive setups, but he said that he prefered the Two Rivers Hammock.  You can see more about the hammock in the video review on my Youtube channel.

You can purchase the hammock from Amazon here.  I also wanted to mention how nice the guys at Two Rivers Outfitter are.  I had an awesome experience with them.  Be sure and tell them that The Common Sense Professor sent you.

An Awesome Hammock at an Amazing Price

Great Budget Hammocks Part 2

I am excited to continue my reviews of great budget hammocks. (Remember I consider a budget hammock to be a hammock that is cheaper than an Eno). Summer is almost here, and I cannot suggest strongly enough just what an enjoyable experience it is to go hammock camping.  Honestly I think that sleeping in a hammock is more comfortable than my own bed.

Ox Straps Double Camping Hammock

I reviewed a hammock recently on my Youtube channel that I had to share with you.  The hammock is from a company that is well known for their hammock straps. What I found out a few days ago is that they also have an awesome hammock that can go blows with the more expensive hammocks.  The great thing about this hammock is it's quality for the price.  Ox Straps has done an amazing job of producing a comfortable, high quality hammock that is extremely affordable.  You can purchase this hammock right now on Amazon for under $25!  Please note that this price does not include the hanging straps.

Ox Straps Hammock Specifications

The Ox Straps Double Hammock is smaller than my other hammocks when it is folded up in it's bag.  This is advantageous when you are hiking and every inch of space is important.  The compact size is somewhat due to the fact that it does not have suspension straps that come with the hammock.   When set up I think that the Ox Strap Hammock is in between a single and a double hammock in size.  The actual dimensions of the hammock are 10' long and 6' wide.  In reality I think that the size of this hammock is absolutely perfect.  That being said, I believe that it is the perfect size for 1 person, not 2.

The construction of this hammock is very high quality.  The material is softer than other budget hammocks that I have reviewed.  Dillon, my son, has literally claimed this hammock for his own.  As you can see in the video, he absolutely loves the Ox Straps Hammock.

The company's suspension straps have been out of stock for the past couple of weeks.  Once they restock the straps I will review them with this hammock.  I am confident that their straps will be as high quality as their hammock.

Customer Service

One thing that I will have to include in my review of the Ox Straps Double Hammock is the wonderful customer service that I received.  You will not get the level of customer service from hammock companies that sell in larger sporting goods stores that you will get from companies like Ox Straps.  You can definitely tell that Ox Straps takes great pride in their products and they really care about their customers.

You can order the Ox Straps Hammock here and their suspension straps here.

Two Great Hammocks that Won't Break the Bank

Great Budget Hammocks Part 1

This is part 1 of many reviews that I will be writing on budget hammocks.  I consider a budget hammock to be anything cheaper than an Eno.  When I am finished reviewing the individual hammocks I will write a blog to compare and create a video on my Youtube Channel to identify the best budget hammock.

TREKK XS and Single Camping Hammocks

I recently reviewed 2 hammocks from a new company that focuses on outdoor equipment, specifically hammocks and camping chairs.  These hammocks are really quality made and are a great option for hammock camping.  They are on the high end of budget hammocks at $45 and $50 respectively.  One great thing about the hammocks is that they both come with suspension cables (which are really ropes that go through a protective sleeve that protects a tree from rubbing its bark off).

The Trekk XS Camping Hammock (pictured above) is a "little" deceiving (no pun intended).  I was really amazed at the size of the XS hammock.  When I ordered the XS I was expecting a hammock just the right size for my third grade daughter.  I am not a small man (6' and about 230lbs) and I fit just fine in the hammock. The downfall of the hammock is that I didn't really have enough room to lay at an angle (one of the golden rules of sleeping in a hammock comfortably).  Overall I was really pleased with this small hammock. The exact dimensions are 9'10" long and 4'7" wide and the weight limit is 400lbs.

The Trekk Single Camping Hammock was deceiving too.  I was expecting it to be smaller, but it is comparable in size to one of my double hammocks.  I did have enough room to lay at an angle with this hammock.  The specs on the Trekk Single Camping Hammock are: 10'6" by 5' and it has the same 400lbs weight limitation.

The time is right, so go to Amazon and search the TREKK Hammocks because once you start hammock camping you will never go back to a tent.
